In Tatarstan, the implementation of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology” continues. Within its framework, as of June 16 of this year, work was carried out in the republic to promote natural reforestation on an area of 549 hectares. Recall that this method of reforestation provides for the creation of favorable conditions for the natural regeneration of undergrowth of valuable species by mineralization of the soil surface, natural overgrowth and preservation of undergrowth when trees are felled. In total, such work this year will be carried out on an area of 2098 hectares.
Recall that earlier this year, according to a regional project, specialists from subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan - forestry enterprises carried out reforestation on an area of 1521.1 hectares. Of these, planting forest crops - on 1412.5 hectares, afforestation - on 104.6 hectares, combined reforestation - on 4 hectares.
“One of the two target indicators of the regional project is “the ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of felled and dead forest plantations,” said Tatarstan Minister of Forestry Ravil Kuzyurov. “Today, its value is 76%. According to the forecast, taking into account the implementation of all planned measures for reforestation, the figure will be 140%. Along with this, under the project, work is underway in the republic to grow standard planting material and harvest seeds of the main forest-forming species.”
For reference. The regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” within the framework of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology” began to be implemented in 2019. Its main goal is to ensure a balance between the disposal and reproduction of forests in the ratio of 100% by 2024.
