In Tatarstan, work is underway to care for forest seed production facilities

In the Republic of Tatarstan, work is underway to take care of forest seed production facilities as part of the state task for 2022. “Care for permanent forest seed plots and plantations includes the removal of grass, dried branches on trees, unwanted woody vegetation between rows, laying and updating mineralized firebreaks,” said Timur Galiyev, head of the reforestation and afforestation department of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. “The work will be carried out throughout the summer-autumn period.”

Recall that the total area of permanent forest seed plots available in the Republic of Tatarstan is 1251 hectares, forest seed plantations - 91 hectares. The main share of these areas is occupied by English oak - 89%, Scots pine - 7%, European spruce - 3% and Siberian larch - 1%.
