Employees of the branch of FBU “Roslesozashchita” “Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan” have begun work to determine the economically feasible collection of seeds of small coniferous species at forest seed production facilities. Specialists have already visited the forest seed plots of the Isleitarsky, Prigorodny, Arsky and Zelenodolsky forestries.

After analysis, the data will be used in planning the volume of seed harvesting to ensure reforestation in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan and the formation of an insurance fund for forest plant seeds.

Recall that in order to provide reforestation work with seeds with improved hereditary properties, there are forest seed plantations in Tatarstan, which are located on an area of 91 hectares and permanent forest seed plots - 1251 hectares. The main share of these areas is occupied by English oak - 89%, Scotch pine - 7%, European spruce - 3% and Siberian larch - 1%.
