The implementation of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology” continues in the republic. “According to the plan, it remains to carry out activities for natural reforestation on an area of 754 hectares,” said Ilgizar Zaripov, First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. “This method of reforestation involves the creation of conditions for the natural regeneration of undergrowth of valuable species by mineralization of the soil surface, natural overgrowth and preservation of undergrowth when trees are felled.”

“The estimated completion date is the first ten days of September this year,” added Ilgizar Zaripov. “Also, according to the regional project, specialists of subordinate institutions - forestry enterprises carry out activities to care for crops in basic forest nurseries and harvest seeds of forest plants. At present, the collection of birch seeds is in full swing.”
