The Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan is checking the seeds of the 2022 crop
In the branch of the FBU “Roslesozashchita” “Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan”, the seeds of the 2022 harvest are being checked. The first to be examined are the seeds of silver birch.
“Since the beginning of September, the institution has received 3 batches of seeds for preliminary analysis and 2 batches for the main one,” said Elena Murzaeva, head of the Tatar Forest Seed Station department. “A preliminary analysis was carried out in order to exclude the harvesting of low-quality and substandard seeds. It allows you to determine the degree of damage to seeds by insect pests, as well as assess the feasibility of their collection.”
“In the course of the main analysis, the seeds are checked for sowing qualities, infection with fungi and damage by pests,” Elena Murzaeva added.
