Today employees of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan congratulated the veterans of the forest industry on the upcoming professional holiday - the Day of Forest Workers. Presenting the gifts, the experts thanked the veterans for their selfless work and contribution to the development of the forest complex, wished them good health, happiness, prosperity and long life.
Forest Workers Day is traditionally celebrated in Russia on the third Sunday of September. This year it falls on September 18th. The holiday was established by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on October 1, 1980.
Currently, more than 2.5 thousand people work in the forest industry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Thanks to their professionalism and hard, selfless work, high-quality planting material is grown in the republic, thousands of hectares of forest plantations are created, forests are protected from fires and illegal logging, as well as their protection from pests and diseases.
