Today, the Ministry hosted a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on the Prevention and Suppression of Illegal Harvesting, Transportation, Processing, Sale, and Export of Timber in the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was held via videoconference under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov.
Head of the department of state control and supervision of the Ministry Airat Akhmerov, head of the forestry department of the GKU RT “Bugulminsky Forestry” Gulnara Mukhametkhanova, and head of the sector of protection and protection of the forest fund Alexei Mosunov made reports at the meeting.
Airat Akhmerov focused on the work carried out by the Ministry to prevent and detect violations in the field of timber harvesting and turnover. He said that since the beginning of 2022, 47 cases of administrative offenses under Art. 8.28 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
“In just 9 months, 56 cases of illegal logging of forest plantations were revealed,” Airat Akhmerov said. “Compared to the same period last year, the number of cases has decreased by 35%, and the volume of illegally harvested timber has decreased by 33%.”
Gulnara Mukhametkhanova spoke about the ongoing measures to prevent illegal logging in the territory of the Bugulma forestry, Alexey Mosunov spoke about the ongoing sanitary and recreational activities in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2022.
At the end of the meeting, a discussion and exchange of views took place on the possibilities of increasing the efficiency of the activities of the commission on the prevention and suppression of illegal harvesting, transportation, processing, sale, and export of timber.
