Today, the Department of Forestry for the Volga Federal District held a meeting via videoconference on the issues of reforestation in 2022. It was held by the Deputy Head of the Department Sergey Kovalev. The meeting was attended by representatives of the forest management bodies of the district, incl. from the Republic of Tatarstan - the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov and the head of the department of reforestation and afforestation Timur Galiev.
During the meeting, issues of reforestation and afforestation, the creation of forest plantations using planting material with a closed root system, etc. were discussed.
Recall that in 2022 in the Republic of Tatarstan, within the framework of the national project “Ecology”, reforestation was carried out on an area of 3619.1 hectares. Of these, planting forest crops on an area of 1412.5 hectares, afforestation - on 104.6 hectares, combined reforestation - on 4 hectares, and natural reforestation - on 2098 hectares.
Currently, work is underway in Tatarstan to supplement forest crops, harvest seeds of the main forest-forming species, and inventory standard planting material.
After the meeting, a meeting of the headquarters for the coordination of activities to extinguish forest fires in the Volga Federal District was held. Within its framework, preliminary results of the 2022 fire season were summed up and tasks for the upcoming period were outlined.
