Every year on October 1, the world celebrates the International Day of Older Persons. On the eve of the holiday, specialists from the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and its subordinate institutions visited the veterans of the forestry industry, asked about the state of their affairs, and presented them with gifts.
“This holiday is a great occasion to once again thank our veterans for many years of conscientious work and invaluable contribution to the formation and development of the republic,” said the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. “You have a glorious life behind you. You are our support, a storehouse of experience, knowledge, and wisdom. With all my heart I wish you good health, excellent mood, active longevity, family warmth, and prosperity.”
International Day of Older Persons was established on December 14, 1990, by the decision of the UN General Assembly. The purpose of the holiday is to attract public attention to the problems of the elderly, to raise awareness of their contribution to the development of society and the need to change attitudes towards older people, ensure their independence, the necessary care and conditions for the realization of internal potential.
