Opening the meeting, Alexander Ornatsky said that since the beginning of the year, 604 forest fires have been recorded in the Volga Federal District on a total area of 16.9 thousand hectares. “With the onset of autumn rainy weather with low average daily air temperature in the regions, the class of fire danger in the forests has decreased,” he said. “The fire season is already closed in the republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan.”

Further, the issues of redistributing the remaining funding allocated for the protection of forests from fires and preparing for the fire season in the forests of 2023 were considered.
