1.7 thousand kg of seeds of the main forest-forming species were harvested in Tatarstan under the national project “Ecology”
In Tatarstan, the collection of seeds of the main forest-forming species continues within the framework of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology”. According to the department of reforestation and afforestation of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, since the beginning of 2022, 1.7 thousand kg of seeds have been harvested, of which spruce - 142 kg, pine - 761 kg, larch - 25 kg, birch - 20 kg, linden - 34 kg, oak - 550 kg, other species - 202 kg.
“Seed collection is an additional indicator of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan”, recalled the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov. “The plan for 2022 is to harvest at least 11,455 kilograms of seeds.”
According to him, this year there is a low fruiting of oak, trees of this species give abundant harvests of acorns every 4-6 years. “In this regard, the heads of subordinate institutions were instructed to intensify the work on collecting seeds of pine, spruce, linden, maple, and ash,” added Ilgizar Zaripov. “All harvested seeds are sent for testing to the Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan.”
Among the leaders in the collection of seeds are Arsky, Zelenodolsky, and Sabinsky forestry enterprises of the republic.
Recall that in 2022, in the Republic of Tatarstan, under the national project “Ecology”, reforestation was carried out on an area of 3619.1 hectares. The target indicator “The ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of felled and dead forest plantations” was 140% (the plan was overfulfilled by 57%).
