Today, the Tatar-inform news agency hosted a press conference dedicated to the preliminary results of the implementation of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the national project “Ecology” in 2022 and plans for 2023. The Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov spoke about this, as well as other work performed on the protection, protection, and reproduction of forests.
The minister said that in 2022, 111.5 million rubles were allocated from the federal budget for the implementation of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” within the framework of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology”. These funds were used to carry out reforestation works (89.5 million rubles), and the purchase of forest fire, silvicultural machinery, and equipment (22 million rubles).
“Under the regional project, this year in Tatarstan, reforestation work was carried out on an area of 3,619 hectares. The value of the first target indicator “The ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of felled and dead forest plantations” was 140%, and the plan was overfulfilled by 57%,” said Ravil Kuzyurov.
According to him, also this year, work was carried out in the republic on laying protective anti-erosion forest plantations on agricultural lands on an area of 1,570 hectares, within the boundaries of the Aznakaevsky municipal district under the carbon sequestration program - on an area of 600 hectares, agrotechnical care for forest crops - on an area of 13530 ha, supplementation of forest crops - on an area of 5153 ha, preparation of soil for forest crops in 2023 - on an area of 1413 ha, sowing seeds of basic forest nurseries - 21 ha.
Additional indicators of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” are “Stock of seeds of forest plants for reforestation and afforestation, kg”, “Amount of grown planting material of forest plants, thousand pieces” and “Area of dead forest plantations, ha”.
“During the year, specialists from subordinate institutions harvested 11,460 kilograms of seeds of the main forest-forming species and grew 33,950 thousand seedlings and seedlings,” the minister noted. “Some of the seeds are still being examined at the Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan. As for planting material, it is enough for reforestation, environmental campaigns, and the laying of protective forest plantations next year.”
Ravil Kuzyurov added that the second target indicator of the regional project “Forest Preservation” is “Damage from forest fires by years”. In 2022, the fire season in the forests was opened on April 25 and closed on October 15, its duration was 174 days. During the fire hazard period, systemic space, aviation, and ground-based monitoring of the fire hazard situation were carried out, agitation and explanatory work were carried out among the population on compliance with fire safety rules in forests, as well as a set of measures for the fire-prevention arrangement of forests.
For the entire period, according to the information system for remote monitoring of the Federal Forestry Agency, 505 thermal points, and 351 cases of fires were registered in the territories bordering the forest fund on a total area of 15.5 hectares.
“Forest fires were not recorded in 2022, and no damage was caused to the forest fund,” the minister stressed.
Within the framework of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” this year, 13 pieces of equipment and 243 pieces of equipment were purchased. Among the purchased equipment - 7 units of trailed modules LKT-4P, 6 units of tractors “Belarus-82.1”, 16 units of fire-fighting equipment (knapsack forest fire extinguishers RP18 Profi) and 227 units of forestry equipment (4 units of plows PKL-70, 4 units of cultivators KLB-1.7, 1 disc harrow BDL-2.5, 218 Kolesov swords).
According to the minister, in 2023, funds of 96.2 million rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for the implementation of the regional project “Forest Preservation in the Republic of Tatarstan”. The funds will be used to increase the area of reforestation - 94.1 million rubles, the formation of a stock of seeds - 844 thousand rubles, and equip specialized institutions with forest fire equipment and equipment - 1.3 million rubles.
“Plots have been selected where reforestation and afforestation will be carried out next year. In total, it is planned to carry out reforestation and afforestation on an area of 3,615 hectares,” said Ravil Kuzyurov. “Preparations have also begun for the next fire season in the forests – plans are being developed to extinguish forest fires on the territory of forest areas, based on which a general master plan for 2023 will be formed.”
At the end of the press conference, the minister answered questions from journalists, in particular, about the sale of Christmas trees, the development of an allowable cutting area, financing, etc.
