Today, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a seminar on the topic “Implementation of legislation on control over the compliance of expenses of officials”. The event was organized on the eve of International Anti-Corruption Day. The seminar was attended by First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov, Prosecutor of the Tatar Environmental Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office Airat Nizamiyev, heads and specialists of structural divisions of the Ministry and its subordinate institutions.
The event was opened by First Deputy Minister Ilgizar Zaripov. He recalled that at the initiative of the United Nations, International Anti-Corruption Day is celebrated annually on December 9. “Corruption is one of the serious conditions hindering the effective development of every organization,” he stressed. “Therefore, the fight against corruption has been and remains the most important activity of our state.”
Then Airat Nizamiyev made a report. He spoke about the identified corruption offenses in 2022, the measures taken by the prosecutor's response, etc.
“One of the most common corruption violations is the failure to provide information on income, expenses, property and property-related obligations, as well as the provision of deliberately false or incomplete information,” Airat Nizamiyev said. “This can become a basis for refusing to accept a citizen for public service or a reason for dismissal.”
In conclusion, the speaker recalled the procedure for preventing and resolving conflicts of interest, and restrictions related to receiving gifts and other rewards in connection with the performance of official duties.
