14.4 tons of seeds of forest plants were harvested in Tatarstan under the national project “Ecology”
In Tatarstan, the harvesting of seeds of the main forest-forming species has been completed within the framework of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology”. In total, 14.4 thousand kg of seeds were collected in 2022, of which pine - 707 kg, spruce - 137 kg, larch - 40 kg, birch - 713 kg, linden - 19 kg, ash - 4367 kg, oak - 8427 kg.
Recall that the harvesting of seeds of forest plants is an additional indicator of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan”.
“The collection of seed material was carried out in forest areas, as well as forest seed production facilities. This year, there was a low yield of oak, so more attention was paid to coniferous and other hardwoods,” said the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. “All seeds were tested at the Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, certificates were issued on their quality.”
