Today in the city of Ulyanovsk, a meeting was held on the issues of reforestation within the framework of the federal project “Preservation of Forests” and the sale of wood at organized auctions in the regions of the Volga Federal District.
The meeting, held via videoconference, was attended by representatives of the forest management authorities of the district, including from the Republic of Tatarstan - the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov, the head of the reforestation and afforestation department of the Ministry Timur Galiev.
Alexander Ornatsky, Head of the Forestry Department for the Volga Federal District, made the keynote speech at the meeting. He spoke about the achieved indicators of the federal project “Preservation of Forests” in 2022 and the tasks for 2023. Alexander Ornatsky paid special attention to problematic issues related to the harvesting and sale of timber.
Then the representatives of the regional forest management bodies took the floor.
During his speech, First Deputy Minister Ilgizar Zaripov said that in 2022, in the Republic of Tatarstan, under the federal project “Preservation of Forests”, reforestation work was carried out on an area of 3.6 thousand hectares. The target indicator “The ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of felled and dead forest plantations” was 154% (the plan was overfulfilled by 70%).
Also under the project, 14.4 tons of seeds of the main forest-forming species were harvested and 33.9 million pieces of standard planting material were grown, he said.
