In 1953, the order of the General Directorate of Forestry Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR in the Volga-Kama Trust organized a balance sheet aerofotolesoustroitelnaya expedition . Kazan Branch "Roslesinforg " is the successor of the Kazan aerofotolesoustroitelnoy expedition.

At the time of the expedition before the Kazan was a task - to bring in the famous forests of Tatarstan, the little-known forests of the Middle Volga region , the Urals and Siberia. Kazan forest managers drafted a long-term plan for the organization of Forestry of the Republic, for many years defined the basic provisions of the forest management plan in relation to the economic development of the region . Forestry management is carried out in recent years on a new basis . All inventory work is done with the latest technology , software and photogrammetric measurement systems. Used geographic information systems (GIS ) , remote sensing data . At the completion of falsework designs are compiled summary of the organization and development of forestry.
