October 14 marks the Day of Russian reserves

The decision to hold annual holiday was taken in 1999 at a meeting of directors reserves in Vladivostok, Russia . The initiative was supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation.

First appeared in the Russian reserves at the end of the 19th century on the grounds of the nobility. And , the first national park ( Barguzinsky ) organized in 1916 , from that time is calculated history of nature conservation in Russia .

Today in Russia there are 100 state nature reserves and 37 national parks, which employ more than 8,000 full-time employees.

Volga-Kama Nature Reserve is the central and most important element in the system of protected areas in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, which contributes to the maintenance of species diversity of living organisms and serves as the basis of balance studies. However, its area is too small to ensure environmental sustainability in the region . Therefore, the country continues unabated attention paid to issues of development and improvement of protected areas . Thus, the area of the reserve , as it were complemented lands under strict protection in a state close to natural and able to fully implement sredoochistitelnye function.

In 2013, the Government acts established in the Chukotka Autonomous District National Park "Beringia" ( 1,819,454 ha) , in the Arkhangelsk region - the National Park " Onega Pomorie" ( 201668 ha) , and (in 9026 ha) expanded the territory of the Sochi National park.

As of the date of nature -reserve fund of the Republic of Tatarstan form 168 protected areas at all levels of the total area of 165.5 hectares , including 163 protected areas of regional importance of approximately 125.4 hectares. Thus, at 2.44 % of the area of the Republic of Tatarstan provided optimal conditions for the preservation and restoration of natural systems , landscape and biological diversity. Over the past 15 years in the Republic of Tatarstan was established 30 protected areas (12 state nature reserves and 18 natural monuments ) with a total area of about 110.7 hectares

In 2013, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan established State Nature Preserve on May 4, 2013 N 300 formed State Nature Reserve " Forest Key ."
