In 2013, the Government acts established in the Chukotka Autonomous District National Park "Beringia" ( 1,819,454 ha) , in the Arkhangelsk region - the National Park " Onega Pomorie" ( 201668 ha) , and (in 9026 ha) expanded the territory of the Sochi National park.

As of the date of nature -reserve fund of the Republic of Tatarstan form 168 protected areas at all levels of the total area of ​​165.5 hectares , including 163 protected areas of regional importance of approximately 125.4 hectares. Thus, at 2.44 % of the area of the Republic of Tatarstan provided optimal conditions for the preservation and restoration of natural systems , landscape and biological diversity. Over the past 15 years in the Republic of Tatarstan was established 30 protected areas (12 state nature reserves and 18 natural monuments ) with a total area of ​​about 110.7 hectares
