In Canada, a conference of the International Association for the Study of boreal forests

In XIV Conference of the northern forests on ' The boreal forests under threat ' attended managing director of the Ministry of Forestry of the RT Adele Galiullin .

      The conference was held in Edmonton , Canada , it was attended by political and scientific figures, representatives of public organizations and businesses of the members of the International Association for the Study of boreal forests (IBFRA): Russia , Canada, Norway , Finland and Sweden. Experts forestry agencies of the U.S. participated in the conference in absentia.

     The conference presented papers and presentations on current topics of conservation, development, protection and use of the boreal forest . The meeting agreed on a Memorandum of Understanding to further expand cooperation circumboreal . During the event , Russian experts took part in meetings with representatives of the Canadian Forest Service . Active discussion was conducted on the forest management practices of the state forest inventory , the characteristics of the forest policies of the two countries. The signing of the Protocol of Intent will be held within the framework of a bilateral meeting with the heads of the Canadian Forest Service. The talks will be the main directions and steps for further Russian - Canadian cooperation on forests .
