Great Sport Day in Lubyany

About five hundred people participated in the forest spartakiade that was held in Lubyany (Kukmor municipal district) at the premises of Lubyany forest engineering college. All subordinate establishments of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and school forestries, Kazan subsidiary “Roslesinforg”, “Eastern-European forest experimental station”, teachers and students of the faculty of forestry and ecology of Kazan State Agricultural University and Lubyany forestry engineering college fielded their teams for volleyball, table tennis and arm wrestling competitions in the framework of “Forest ski track 2014”.

The Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nail Magdeev, and the Head of Kukmor Municipal District, Rauil Rakhmatullin, wished sport success to the participants during the solemn opening of the spartakiade.

Mass folk festivals were held at Lubyansky pond along with sport competitions as it is customary during merry Pancake Week (Maslenitsa) involving horse and snowmobile riding. Forestries treated everyone to pancakes and fragrant tea.
