In this regard, the problem of improving the environmental situation in Russia are of great interest not only from relevant agencies, but also the scientific community. A special role is played here by the science of history, which allows you to look at the nature of the processes taking place in the eyes of a man of the XXI century, trace their development on a large time scale. This problem was addressed at an international conference on the theme: "Environmental history in Russia: stages of development and future research directions", which was attended by scientists from the UK, USA, Germany, France, Ukraine and Russia.

"The participation of specialists of the Ministry in the International Conference allowed to significantly expand the range of issues discussed, draw the attention of the forum participants to the history and current state of forest protection in the Republic of Tatarstan", - said in a letter to the rector of the Institute Elabuzhsky the Minister A.Nazirova.
