Specialists of the Ministry of Forestry of the RT took part in an international Internet conference "Protected areas as a strategic element for the development of eco-tourism in the Russian Federation", organized by the Ministry of Russia, which took place February 26, 2015

This was stated by Director of the Department of state policy and regulation in the field of environmental protection Ministry of Russia Dmitry Belanovich, speaking at the plenary session of the Internet conference "Protected Areas as a strategic element for the development of eco-tourism in the Russian Federation."

"The Russian society should form an understanding of the place and role of nature reserves and national parks not only in biodiversity conservation, but also in socio-economic development of regions. This should ensure an effective system of public support for protected areas as national heritage sites "- said the director of the Department of State policy and regulation in the field of environmental protection Ministry of Russia D.Belanovich, speaking at the plenary session of the conference.

The event brought together over 50 speakers from 45 regions of Russia (from Kaliningrad to Magadan and from Sochi to Arkhangelsk) and the world's leading experts in the field of eco-tourism in Iceland, Scotland and the United States.

Addressed key issues of the development of ecological tourism in Russia and provides practical infrastructure, marketing, information solutions.

Participation in the conference was more than 1,500 students.
