Day of Tree Planting
In order to foster careful attitude to one of the main resources of the country, the Russian forest, to enhance prestige of the forester profession, to draw public attention to the problems of conservation, reproduction and augmentation of forest resources on May 14, 2016 the traditional republican campaign “Day of Tree Planting” was held.
About 30 thousand residents of the republic took part in this campaign, and 1.3 million pieces of different planting material were planted on an area of 350 hectares. The campaign was supported by civil servants and employees of the Office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Tatarstan, all ministries, departments, judicial bodies, teachers and students of educational institutions. It should be noted that every year more and more volunteers join to the Day of Tree Planting; the trees are planted by whole family together with children. The veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers also took part in that campaign. Each participant took an active part in the campaign planted its tree.
