From May 10 to May 20, 2016 Anne Moosmann, coordinator of LesPlan project and representative of the Dresden University of Technology, and Martin Hofmann, the representative of Hessen-Forst, Partner of LesPlan project have visited the Republic of Tatarstan. As part of the establishment of the first three experimental plots of LesPlan Project and together with the specialists of the Sabinsky Forestry they have planted plantations on three experimental plots. Totally, more than 7000 pieces of planting material such as poplar (Matrix 11 clone, Matrix 24 clone, and clone 38), aspen, larch, and birch have been planted. Their survival rate was more than 85%.
From May 24 to June 25, 2016 the Dresden University of Technology’s experts – Professor Sven Wagner, the head of OMSK project, and Anastasia Walraf, the coordinator of OMSK Project – have visited the Republic of Tatarstan. The purpose of their visit is the inspection and taking measurements in a prepared experimental Nelder circle on the territory of the Kaybitsky Forestry, as well as the selection of new plots for measurements in the young oak stands. Currently, the visit of the German delegation to the Republic of Tatarstan in this autumn to discuss the results of the work already performed is being negotiated.
