From July 30 to August 5, 2016 in Tatarstan the high forest fire danger (4th class) persists. According to Weather Control and Environmental Monitoring Service of the Republic of Tatarstan, since August 1 in some republican areas it is expected an extreme wildfire danger.
The readiness of fire brigades to prompt response to hot spots is of the particular importance. The situation in the forest is observed from 16 watchtowers located in the most fire hazardous forestries. All operational information is delivered to the regional dispatch control point at the Fire Center of the republic. The number of people in fire brigades is 779 persons. 203 voluntary fire brigades and 150 mobile firefighting groups whose main task is to constantly patrol forests on the approved land routes are established.
Tatarstan is on the border with the forests of such neighboring republics as Mari El, Udmurtia, Bashkortostan, and Chuvashia; totally, it is 293.5 km. All practical arrangements concerning the interregional cooperation had been made before the fire season has started.
