In the Birch Grove of the Derbyshki Village the competitions to obtain the title of the best wildfire fighter 2016 have been held. 60 people – the staff of fire brigades of the Republic of Tatarstan – took part in the competitions. The event was held in order to improve the status of blue-collar occupation, to promote the achievements and best practices in forestry, as well as to increase the level of readiness of subordinated institutions to wildfire extinction.
The competition has been held in two stages:
- a theory test of knowledge of the current legislation and rules for wildfire extinction,
- an active task (physical training and obstacle course).
The judges have decided the following winners:
I place – Gabdelhakov Fayaz Firzinatovich (Head, Type 3 Fire and Chemical Station (Saby), Wildfire Center)
II place – Khakimullin Razil Razilevich (driver, Type 3 Fire and Chemical Station (Vysokaya Gora), Wildfire Center)
III place – Baigobulov Rinat Rustamovich (forest conservation and protection engineer, Lubyansky Forest Engineering College)

The winner of the competitions will represent the Republic in the final of the Russian National Competition “The Best Wildfire Fighter 2016” which is to be held in September in Pushkino town, the Moscow Region.
