Lubyansky Forest Engineering College celebrated its 95 anniversary

Over a thousand people came to see the festive event. The ceremony brought together graduates of different years, forestry workers of Tatarstan and the Volga Region, representatives of higher educational institutions, secondary specialized educational institutions, the heads of leading enterprises of Tatarstan and Udmurtia.

The opening ceremony began with the laying flowers in front of the monument to Georgy Fyodorovich Morozov and commemorative plaques to Nurgali Minnikhanov and Nikolay Savin. The memory wall to the technical school teachers was officially opened. After that the guests visited the arboretum and graves of teachers and employees of the Lubyansky Forest Engineering College.

At the College stadium there was a theatrical performance dedicated to the history of the college and the Lubyany Village. The official part of the concert program was opened by the Minister of Forestry of Tatarstan Almas Nazirov. In his speech he said: “Thanks to the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in recent years, in Lubyany, the particular attention is paid to the improvement of social conditions: the roads are laid, the houses, schools, and kindergartens are built”. He also expressed his deep respect and gratitude to the veterans who set up a tradition to train recent graduates for the timber industry.

 “More than a half of the territory of our country is occupied by forests. It is a priceless treasure given to us by nature; it is a source of joy and health! Save Nature, Protect Forests! In this festive day I wish to all the veterans, alumni, students, future foresters and teachers of the Lubyansky Forest Engineering College good health, happiness, peace, goodness, and that the school would be on rise, and train highly qualified personnel for the good of forestry,” said Almas Nazirov. The Minister handed out the honorary awards of the Federal Forestry Agency “For the long and dedicated work on the development and improvement of the Russian forestry, a great personal contribution to the preservation and augmentation of the Russian forest resources, and in connection with the 95th anniversary of the Lubyansky Forest Engineering College establishment”. The departmental badge “Honorary Forest Worker of Russia” was awarded to G.G. Zakirova (a teacher, a veteran of pedagogical work of the Lubyansky Forest Engineering College). The Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan awarded the honorary title “Honored Forester of the Republic of Tatarstan” to V.A. Kulgeev (Deputy Director for On-the-Job Training). P.S. Sukhov (teacher of the Lubyansky Forest Engineering College) was awarded the Thanks of the President of Tatarstan. Also, the awards of the Ministry of Forestry of Tatarstan “For practical help in the arrangement and holding the IV Russian Championship “Logger 2016”  were handed out.

Also, the congratulations were expressed by the head of the Kukmorsky Municipal District of Tatarstan S.D. Dimitriev; Head of Vocational Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan I.M. Yarullin; the Consultant of the Department of the Federal National Forest Supervision, the Federal National Fire Supervision in Forests and Civil Defence E.V. Leontyev; the Chairman of the trade union organization of Tatarstan’s timber industry workers I.I. Gimadeev; the Director of the Lubyansky Forest Engineering College A.M. Danilov.

As part of celebrations, at the College stadium the forest Sabantuy (Urmantuy 2016) in which the inhabitants of the Lubyany Village participated was held. At the end of the festive events the fireworks were launched.
