Within the fire-dangerous season state forest inspectors conduct patrolling of forests throughout the territory of Tatarstan. In particular, the employees of the State Public Institution "Aksubaevskiy Forest District" conduct joint raids with the fire department of the district. They inspect the forest areas, frequently visited by vacationers and mushroom pickers. A fire-dangerous season is especially stressful for foresters. Voluntary fire brigades are organized at each precinct forestry. A patrol consisting of Deputy Forestry Director Andrei Ilmukhin, Forest Protection and Conservation Engineer Anna Ubeikina and Deputy Chief of Fire and Rescue Brigade Zulfat Ziangyrov examines the situation, meets with the villagers and holds explanatory talks. Diana Zubareva, Forestry Engineer, also conducts patrolling. She is a young specialist in forestry, and number of young specialists only increases in our republic every year.
In a fire-hazardous season, one must strictly follow the fire safety rules in the forest: it is not allowed to fire up on forest lands and places of mass recreation of people, areas adjacent to forests, throw non-extinct cigarette butts.
Today, in the forest belt of Mirny settlement, the employees of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the public organization "We are what we do" and the "Spring of the World" charity foundation took part in the quests for garbage collection. This is a new format of voluntary Saturday cleanup day, where teams clean the forest of debris for speed. For each bag collected, activists received points, winners were awarded with valuable prizes. The participants of the quest were entertained by Russian folk games under the groovy music by a DJ. Also at the end of the event, all participants could taste the field kitchen. The foresters made their contribution to this event, they actively participated in the collection of garbage and showed by their example how carefully one should treat nature.
Ravil Kuzyurov, Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, checked the state of affairs in State Public Institution “Kamskiy Forest District” and State Budgetary Institution “Kamskiy Forestry Enterprise”. As part of the trip, the Minister held a meeting with staff members of forest district and forestry enterprise, where he introduced the new forestry director Albert Shamilov to the team. The event was attended by the Head of Mamadyshskiy municipal district Anatoliy Ivanov. After the meeting, the Minister checked fire-fighting equipment, a forest nursery and a planting area for forest crops. This year 122 hectares of forest cultures of coniferous, soft-leaved and hard-leafed species have been planted in Kamskiy forest district. The Minister expressed his remarks and suggestions, and instructed the staff to pay attention to the quality of the work performed.
Employees of State Public Institution "Agryzskiy Forest District" together with volunteers took part in the greening of the territory of the new building of the House of Children's Creativity in Agryz. The campaign was timed to the International Children's Day. During the event, the site was cleared of debris, dead wood and cut down trees were collected. Thanks to the help of foresters, 15 cubic meters of solid household waste were taken to the landfill. It is worth noting that the site was heavily cluttered with household rubbish. In the framework of the campaign, forestry workers planted 120 new trees: "Everyone should do good deeds, today we have greened the city and gave children the joy of being in clean territory, around beautiful trees", noted the foresters.
Leysan Khairullina, Head of the school forestry of State Public Institution "Prigorodnyi Forest District" held a "Forest Lesson" for preschool children and preschool teachers of the kindergarten "Rosinka". Today, children learned how to behave in the forest in a fire-dangerous period, how to plant a tree, and also about school forestry. In the course of the lesson, there was a presentation of educators with programs based on the formation of environmental awareness among children. Also children of school and preschool age appeared with songs, poems and short theatrical scenes on environmental issues. By the way, kindergarten No 22 "Rosinka" in Kadyshevo village of Aviastroitelnyi district is focused on ecological and nature protection issues. Children from a young age are taught a careful attitude to the environment and forest wealth.
The regular meeting of the Public Council was chaired by E.A. Guskov, a member of the Council of Veterans of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting touched upon the themes of forest management, reforestation, forest seed production and nursery.
Today, under the chairmanship of Minister Ravil Kuzyurov, an expanded meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan was held. This event is a synthesis of the scientific approach and practical knowledge in forestry. The advantages of modern approaches in forestry technology were discussed there. Representatives of the East European Forest Experimental Station, scientists from Kazan Federal University and Kazan State Agrarian University, veterans of forestry, specialists of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and subordinate institutions “Lesnichestvo” took part in the meeting.
Special attention was paid to biotechnology at the meeting. In particular, the State Budgetary Institution "Training and Experimental Sabinskiy Forest District" has stated the topic of selection of highly productive birch forms in the forests of the Republic of Tatarstan, using modern methods. Also a number of other promising topics and scientific and industrial developments, including "Creation of a collection of in-vitro clones - valuable genotypes of oak tree, selected in the forests of the Republic of Tatarstan" were considered. This program is aimed at identifying plus trees, selecting biomaterial from these trees, for further cultivation of quality planting material from it. The development of this project will help to improve the forest fund of Tatarstan.
"Currently in Tatarstan there are plantations of triploid aspen (cloned). The study of cloned trees showed that this innovative method allows to grow a high-performance planting material, resistant to frost and various diseases. Triploid aspen is also the leader in terms of growth", noted N.A. Khanov, Deputy Director of Invitro laboratory of micro-clonal vegetative reproduction.
In addition to scientific and industrial developments, the council members discussed actual directions that need to be implemented in the republic. The meeting also focused on such topics as the implementation of the Russian-German project "Conservation and optimization of mixed stands of common oak and small-leaved linden in the Republic of Tatarstan".
Closing the meeting Ravil Kuzyurov, Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, thanked all those gathered for constructive dialogue and expressed the hope that these developments will find wide application in forestry.
As of May 28, 2018 artificial reforestation has been fully completed. Such works as creation of forest cultures, combined reforestation (combination of artificial and natural in one sector), addition of forest cultures, seeding in nurseries have been performed. Work on creation of forest cultures have been carried out in the full amount in 31 forestry districts of Tatarstan. Work on creation of anti-erosion protective forest plantations has also been completed.
Spring forestry works in the republic began in accordance with the calendar plan and were completed in the spring forest-cultivated season in the optimal agrotechnical terms.
In Svetloozersk rural settlement of Zainskiy district, trees were planted on the territory of the former landfill. Employees of the State Budgetary Institution "Zainskiy Forestry Enterprise" have planted more than 4 hectares of land. The former landfill is located 15 kilometers from the city of Zainsk. These measures are carried out in order to improve the ecological state and within the framework of remediation works. Today, European and Siberian spruce with a closed root system were planted here. It should be noted, in this area, preparatory work was carried out, in particular, soil was brought in. Seedlings with a closed root system were used as a planting stock, since they can be planted throughout the vegetative period.
Employees of the State Public Institution "Almetyevskiy Forestry Enterprise" together with Oil and Gas Production Department “Almetyevneft” employees took part in the republican environmental campaign "Clean forests of Tatarstan". In the quarter 168 of Minnibayevskiy district forestry, the territory was cleaned of solid municipal waste and construction debris. Unauthorized landfills in this area are completely eliminated, waste in the amount of 12 cubic meters were taken to the landfill. "It's nice to realize that by participating in this campaign, we are improving the sanitary and environmental situation in the forests", noted the foresters.
