As part of the Year of Ecology, in the lounge of Kazan International Airport (Terminal 1 A) the experts of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan organized an exhibition “Specially Protected Natural Reservations of the Republic of Tatarstan”. There are photographs of rare species of animals and plants in the exhibition stands. The thematic exposition is aimed at formation of ecological culture, drawing of attention to the problem of reducing flora and fauna species diversity. The exhibition will last until March.
In Zelenodolsk the Trade Union Youth Ski Track 2017 was held among income-earning youths and students of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The experts of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary held a campaign “Let’s feed birds in winter!” together with the children of the daycare center “Solnyshko” and pupils of Kichketanskaya Secondary School of the Agryzsky District of Tatarstan.
Winter is a difficult time for all birds. They survive the cold, freezing, lack of shelter and food. Typically, February accompanied by strong winds, drifting snow and low air temperature. To maintain the population of birds, they need additional feeding. During winter, the inspectors of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary in cooperation with educational institutions of the Agryzsky District provide additional feeding to birds. Children readily participate in the arrangement and holding of such activities: together with parents they make birdfeeders, collect food and organize the bird feeding areas.
Today, Nurlatskoye Forestry hosts a meeting with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Emir Bedertdinov. The purpose of the meeting is to improve the quality of activities concerning the use, conservation, protection and reproduction of forests with the participation of the forest workers. The district foresters, engineers, foresters, deputy heads of Nurlatskoye Forestry, Laishevskoye Forestry, Alkeevskoye Forestry, Bolgarskoye Forestry, Aksubaevskoye Forestry, Bilyarskoye Forestry, Cheremshanskoye Forestry took part in the seminar.
As part of the retreat meeting, the foresters visited the school and daycare center in Mamykovo Village, Nurlatsky District.
The teleconference organized by the Department of Forestry for the Volga Federal District was held in the format of a videoconference. At the meeting the plan of activities scheduled in the framework of the Year of Ecology, the preparations for the fire season, the implementation of forest management fieldworks, and the work with research organizations were discussed.
Buinskoye Forestry and Buinsky Forest Establishment started the preparatory works for the spring field reforestation works. The students of the Forestry Department of Buinsky Veterinary College currently put snow into the glacier for the temporary storage of planting stock during spring silvicultural works. Also, there is a supply of wood ash for “blackening” of snow in the nursery.
On February 12, in Kukmor a mass ski race took place. The students and teachers of Lubyansky Forest Engineering College participated in the competition. The winners are:

The quiz was devoted to the protection of hibernating birds. The aim of the event was to broaden horizons of children, to cultivate a sense of caring and responsibility for the fate of birds, love to nature, to raise the level of environmental culture, and to develop the creative abilities of children. The teams of 8-9 people from each class participated in the quiz. The pupils, together and individually, answered questions, solved riddles, gave examples of migratory and hibernating birds, called the reasons for migratory birds leave their homes, told about folk festivals related to birds. In his speech to students the Head of Kichke-Tan Akhly Faizullin told the children about the feathered friends, where and how they nest, and why it is necessary to feed the birds in winter.
Within the framework of the regional state environmental supervision in the field of protection and use of the territory (water area) of Spassky Nature Sanctuary the experts of the sanctuary have conducted inspectoral raids together with the police officers of the Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Russia for the Spassky District. The events were aimed at detection and restraint of violations of the sanctuary’s rules. As a result of the raids, 12 instruments (nets) of the administrative offense committing have been seized. In respect of these facts, 5 protocols on seizure of objects and documents have been drawn up and 5 notices of initiation of administrative proceedings and administrative investigation have been made.
The workers of Chatyrtauskoye District Forestry met with the children of the school forestry unit of the secondary school No.1 of Aznakayevo town. The students were given a talk on “Discussion of tasks for 2017: birdfeeders making; fire safety in forest; preparation to the forest cultivation works”. As a reward for their fruitful work in 2016 the children were given the book “Forest Watch”. Also, as part of the meeting, the students visited the museum where they got acquainted with the history of Aznakaevsky Forest Establishment and the foresters’ instruments of labor.
