The Ministry discussed the implementation of the Tatarstan-German project “Development of a Concept for Sustainable Forestry in Aspen Stands”
Today, employees of the Ministry held a videoconference meeting with representatives of the Technical University of Dresden (Federal Republic of Germany) at the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. It was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the RT Ilgizar Zaripov, the heads of structural departments of the Ministry, the Director of the branch of FBU VNIILM East European Forest Experimental Station Fedor Ilyin from the university: Prof. Jürgen Prech, Sven Wagner, Albrecht Bemmann, Dr. Wolfram Schiding , Eckhard Auch, Anna Moosmann et al.
During the meeting, issues of implementation of a new joint research project “Development of Concept of Sustainable Forestry in Aspen Stands and their Use in the Republic of Tatarstan “ASTAT” were considered. The meeting participants discussed the stages of the project in the current sanitary and epidemiological situation, development of a set of forestry measures for growing aspen stands, caring for them, increasing their productivity, the possibility of organizing aspen processing, etc.
It was also decided to conduct an examination of aspen stands on the territory of the forest fund of the republic in August of this year.
Lt us recall that this year, before the pandemic, the delegation of the Dresden Technical University paid a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan. University staff visited the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, assessed the condition of aspen plantations in the Alekseyevskiy and Nurlatskiy municipal districts, and also got acquainted with the work of Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan.
