The branch of FBU “Roslesozashchita” “Center for Forest Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan” continues to work on checking the seeds of forest plants before laying them in the insurance fund. “The other day we received the seeds of Scotch pine of the new harvest, harvested by the Arsk forestry enterprise. The weight of the party was 5 kilograms, ‒ said Elena Murzaeva, head of the Tatar forest seed station department. ‒ Currently, the seeds are being tested in accordance with regulatory requirements. After receiving the quality document, they can be put into the insurance fund.”
Let us recall that the insurance fund for forest seeds was created by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan in order to ensure work on reforestation and afforestation in the event of lean years. The seeds are stored in a specialized warehouse of the Forest Seed-Breeding Center of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Leskhoz village of the Sabinsky municipal district. Currently, the fund has 317 kg of coniferous seeds, including pine ‒ 164 kg, spruce ‒ 139 kg, larch ‒ 14 kg.
