In the branch of FBU “Roslesozashchita” “Center for Forest Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan” are summing up the results of the work carried out in 2020 on state forest pathological monitoring. Thus, the specialists of the institution carried out regular ground observations of the sanitary and forest pathological state of forests on an area of 971.7 thousand hectares and selective ground observations on an area of 13.3 thousand hectares.
Based on the results of observations, it was found that the greatest mortality is observed in the plantings of aspen and birch. In many cases, the root cause of weakening of forests is unfavorable weather conditions (ice, prolonged drought and high air temperatures, movement of air masses).
According to the branch employees, in the report on the GLPM for 2020, the calculation of the values of the criteria for dangerous deviations of the sanitary state will be carried out for the main forest-forming tree species and forest plantations in the group of strata (typological groups similar in terms of the main forest inventory indicators) and for the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan as a whole.
