More than 520 thousand seedlings have been planted in Tatarstan within the framework of the International Action “Garden of Memory”
Today, on the territory of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan, an international action “Garden of Memory” was held, dedicated to the celebration of the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 100th anniversary of the formation of the forestry management body of the Republic of Tatarstan. The central event of the action took place in Kazan on the territory of the Rowing Sports Center. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Head of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Shamil Gafarov, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan - Head of the Department for Work with Territories of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilnur Garipov, Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War Alexander Malov, employees of the Office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, etc.
“The Garden of Remembrance is a truly nationwide action. This is a great opportunity to honor the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, who paid with their lives for the peace, freedom, and independence of our country, to immortalize their names and deeds and pass on their memory to future generations, - noted the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. - I planted 2 trees. One in honor of my father's grandfather - Khaliulla Khabibullovich Kuzyurov. He was mobilized by the Aksubaevsky RVK in 1941, was a sergeant in the 732nd rifle regiment of the 235th rifle division. For many years he was considered missing. Later, we learned, having looked up the archives, that he died in July 1943 in the village of Vyazhi-Zaverkh, Oryol Region, and was buried in a mass grave. I dedicated the second tree to my wife's grandfather on the mother's side, a participant in the Great Patriotic War - Fattah Salakhovich Kamaletdinov. He was drafted in 1941 to the city of Rostov, an artillery school. He took part in the battles for Stalingrad, Vyborg, Staraya Russa, Bryansk, Orel, at the Kursk Bulge, for Konigsberg.”
A total of 380 were planted on this site. seedlings. Near Kazan, the action took place at 3 more sites - on the territory of Matyushinsky, Vysokogorsky, and Iske-Kazansky district forestry of Prigorodny forestry. In general, 526 thousand seedlings were planted in the Republic of Tatarstan in memory of the great feat of 350 thousand Tatarstanians who did not return home from the front to their relatives and friends. About 20 thousand people joined the action.
Let us remind you that the International Campaign “Garden of Memory” will last until June 22, 2021. It is expected that a total of 1 million seedlings will be planted in the Republic of Tatarstan as a result of the action.
