The collection of Scotch pine cones is in full swing at the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Bugulminsky forestry”

In the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Bugulminsky forestry”, the collection of Scotch pine cones is in full swing within the framework of the state assignment for 2022. “To date, 1 ton of cones has already been harvested. Work is being carried out in all district forestries, 25 people are involved,” said Nurfiya Ibragimova, an engineer for reforestation of the State Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Bugulminsky forestry”. “According to the rules, the collected buds are stored in a well-ventilated and protected from precipitation room and periodically mixed by specialists.”

“It is planned to start processing cones in January. In total, we expect to stock at least 4 tons of cones and get 40 kilograms of seeds from them,” added Nurfiya Ibragimova. “We need to increase the production of standard planting material based on the designated tasks for reforestation, afforestation, landscaping, and greening of cities and towns of the Bugulma municipal district.”
