Specialists of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Forest Fire Center” told reporters about the work to protect forests from fires
Today, a press tour was held for representatives of the media to the type III forest fire station of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Forest Fire Center”, located in the village of High Gora, Vysokogorsky municipal district.
As part of the press tour, the journalists learned how the fire season in the forests of 2022 is going in the Republic of Tatarstan, what is being done to prevent the occurrence of forest fires, assessed the equipment of the forest fire station, and saw the methods and techniques for extinguishing forest fires.
Director of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Forest Fire Center” Aidar Gaifullin said that to ensure timely detection, extinguishing, and prevention of forest fires in the forest fund in the republic, there are 20 type II forest fire stations at forest enterprises and 5 type III forest fire stations at the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Forest Fire Center”. “There are 13 pieces of equipment at this station, including 4 fire trucks, as well as the necessary fire equipment and other special equipment for extinguishing forest fires,” he said.
According to the master plan, the number of forest fire formations is 416 people, equipment - 338 units of various equipment. In the event of an emergency, the forces and means of legal entities - 1,794 people and 588 pieces of equipment and the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan - 1,002 people and 368 pieces of equipment can be involved in fighting forest fires.
“Currently, the Republic of Tatarstan is conducting space and ground-based monitoring of a fire hazard situation, campaigning and explanatory work are being carried out among the population on compliance with fire safety rules in forests, a set of measures is being taken for the fire-prevention arrangement of forests,” Aidar Gaifullin added. “According to ISDM-Rosleskhoz, 229 thermal points are registered in the republic today.”
At the end of the press tour, methods and techniques for extinguishing forest fires were demonstrated. The journalists saw the process of using a knapsack fire extinguisher, a motorized fire pump, etc.
