In 2022, 33.9 million pieces of standard planting material were grown in Tatarstan under the national project “Ecology”
The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan summed up the results of the inventory of planting material in basic forest nurseries within the framework of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology”.
“Inventory was carried out in October of this year,” said the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. “The purpose of the survey was to clarify the volumes performed, the quality of the seedlings, and their compliance with current standards and specifications.”
According to him, a total of 33.9 million pieces were grown in 2022. planting material, including in the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan - 12 million pieces with a closed root system. Of these, conifers - 25.5 million pieces, hardwoods - 7.9 million pieces, and shrubs - 0.5 million pieces.
“Cultivation of seedlings is an additional indicator of the regional project “Forest Preservation in the Republic of Tatarstan,” Ravil Kuzyurov recalled. “This year the plan was overfulfilled by 10%. This planting material will be used for reforestation, environmental campaigns, and the laying of protective forest plantations in 2023.”
