From May 10 to May 20, 2016 Anne Moosmann, coordinator of LesPlan project and representative of the Dresden University of Technology, and Martin Hofmann, the representative of Hessen-Forst, Partner of LesPlan project have visited the Republic of Tatarstan.  As part of the establishment of the first three experimental plots of LesPlan Project and together with the specialists of the Sabinsky Forestry they have planted plantations on three experimental plots. Totally, more than 7000 pieces of planting material such as poplar (Matrix 11 clone, Matrix 24 clone, and clone 38), aspen, larch, and birch have been planted. Their survival rate was more than 85%.

The seed harvesting is an important step in the reforestation. On the extent to which the forestries stock the seeds the availability of planting material in a few years will depend. The quality of further reforestation depends on the quality and timeliness of the works on preparation of seeds and growing of planting stock in forest nurseries. Currently, the subordinated institutions of the Ministry – forest establishments – make vigorous efforts to stock the hardwood seeds: Siberian pea shrub (acacia) and silver birch. As of July 26, 75.7 kg of Siberian pea shrub seeds and 63 kg of silver birch seeds are harvested. However, totally, since the beginning of the year it was harvested  833.9 kg of the main forest-forming species seed, where 658.7 kg of conifers, including 453.8 kg of Scots pine, 126.9 kg of Norway spruce, 78 kg of Siberian larch seeds and 175.2 kg of hardwood seeds. The greatest number of seeds was harvested in Menzelinsky Forest Establishment and Arsky Forest Establishment - 221.5 kg and 111.3 kg respectively.

No fire episodes have been recorded over the forest area of the Republic of Tatarstan, but the high-fire persists. In this regard, the Ministry requests citizens and guests of the republic to comply with fire safety regulations when staying in the forest. In order to improve the status of blue-collar occupation, to assist in engaging young people in training and employment on the blue-collar jobs, to promote the achievements and best practices in forestry, as well as to increase the level of readiness of subordinated institutions to wildfire extinction on July 30, 2016 in the premises of the Prigorodnoye Forestry (in the Birch grove of Derbyshki Village) the II stage of the Russian National Professional Skill Competition “The Best Wildfire Fighter 2016” is to be held. The wildfire brigades from all over the republic will take part in this competition. The program includes a theory test of knowledge of the current legislation and rules for wildfire extinction, and active task (physical training and obstacle course) which will be assessed by a team of experts with many years’ experience in firefighting. The competition will start at 10.00. The opening ceremony of the competition will be held at 9.00.

The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan summed up the children's photo contest “Islands of Wildlife”, drawing competition “The world of Wilderness”, literary works competition “Lukomorye” held within the framework of the March of Parks 2016 campaign held in the Republic of Tatarstan.

Based on the analysis of materials submitted as well as in the course of joint discussion, the Commission awarded children the prizes and recognition gifts.

On June 1 to 3 a delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has visited the Federal Republic of Germany (Saxony, Thuringia). On the part of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan the delegation included the First Deputy Minister of Forestry Kharis Musin and Doctor of Technical Sciences of the Department of Wood Materials Processing of Kazan State Technological University Nail Timerbayev. The visit to Dresden University of Technology was of particular interest of the Ministry’s representatives. For several years good and promising business relationships bind Dresden University of Technology and the Ministry of Forestry as well as the Faculty of Forestry and Environment of Kazan State Agrarian University and the East-European Forest Experiment Station of the Russian Research Institute for Silviculture and Mechanization of Forestry (VNIILM). To a great extent the key to successful co-operation was the support of the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan and personally the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Two joint research projects were the result of numerous discussions and mutual meetings of Tatarstan and the Saxon foresters:

Conservation and optimization of oak plantations in the Republic of Tatarstan” which involves a comprehensive study of the oak plantations on the territory of Kaybitsky Forestry to create mixed oak stands and optimize silvicultural parameters for their growing, and to develop sustainable high-yield stands; and “Wood plantations development and use in the Republic of Tatarstan” which implies the creation of fast-growing tree plantations of aspen and birch trees in order to grow commercial timber and to obtain wood chips used for the production of wood-based panels and in bio-energy.

2016 was the second stage in the implementation of these projects, and as of today, the field works are being performed: establishment of experimental oak plantations and plantations of fast-growing poplars. Today on the territory of the Sabinsky Municipal District the experimental fast-growing poplar plantations (Matrix) have already been created, on the territory of the Kaybitsky Municipal District the experimental plots of oak and linden trial stands have been established according to the schemes of Nelder’s experiments.

Within the framework of the State program “Strategic talent management in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2015-2020” approved by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan No.943 dated 12.03.2014, in order to address awareness of students, teachers and parents on the possibilities and resources for the development of intellectual and creative potential, on May 18, 2016, in Agryz town, “My city. My talent” mobile exhibition, as the main communication and demonstration platform of ​​the State Program, has been held. As part of the state program, the experts of Kichle-Tan Nature Sanctuary took part in that event. They presented their own exhibition. In the course of team work the Head of Kichke-Tan Nature Sanctuary Akhly Faizullin presented challenges, possibilities and problems of the development in the form of PowerPoint presentation. The gifted children of the Agryzsky District and the children awarded at the municipal Festival of Talents were the participants in the public defense of projects.

 

 

On May 25, 2016 the experts of Spassky Nature Sanctuary took part in the celebratory assembly of graduates of the Bolgarskaya High School No.2. The students who took an active part in the contests of the environmental campaign “March of the Parks 2016” were awarded diplomas and memorable gifts. The biology teacher Mulinova Yulia was awarded the Letter of Thanks of Spassky Nature Sanctuary administration for taking the creative part in the caompaign.

In order to create favorable sanitary and environmental conditions in the forests of the Republic of Tatarstan a clean-up event as part of the traditional republican environmental campaign “Clean forests of Tatarstan” was held.

About 15 thousand inhabitants of the republic took part in this event. The participants have collected and transported 920.5 cubic meters of solid waste from 1500 hectares of the territory of unauthorized waste disposal. In addition, along highways and federal and regional routes 590 cubic meters of dead wood and fallen trees have been collected and removed. The campaign was supported by civil servants and employees of all ministries, departments, judicial bodies, employees of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan, teachers and students of educational institutions, as well as local residents. It should be noted that every year more and more volunteers join to this campaign.

The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan thanks everyone who took part in the campaign “Clean forests of Tatarstan”.

In accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers the Republic of Tatarstan No. 546-r dated 31.03.2016 in the republic the traditional nature protection campaign “Clean forests of Tatarstan” is held. As part of this campaign on May 21, 2016 the Day of Forest cleaning is planned.

We invite all caring citizens to support this campaign and take part in the Cleaning Day on the territory of the forest fund of Vysokogorsky District Forestry of the Prigorodny Forestry (Blue Lakes). The meeting point is near the Shcherbakovo Village. The meeting time is 10:00.
