On the 25th of January in 1832 was born an Artist Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin in a little town Elabuga. When he was studying in Petersburg in Academy of Art the teachers noticed his talent to landscape painting. And it is true that the Academician of Painting I. Shishking became a singer of Russian forest. In his home town in Elabuga were created a lot of his paintings “Pine wood on the sunlight” (1886), “Korabelnii wood” (1898) and many others.

The Minister of Forestry of Republic of Tatarstan had a meeting with the journalists of “The Times” (Great Britain) Laura Janes and Martin Rodriges Villa. “The Times” is one of the prestigious worldwide newspapers. It is more than 200 years.

In “The Times” they are getting ready several articles about social and economic potential of Republic of Tatarstan, about possible investment of industry in Republic. With the high level of social interest to the ecological problems around the world the question about inhabitable environment of people became one of the most important. That’s why there is an attention to the forestry of Republic of Tatarstan.

The Minister Nail Magdeev got acquainted journalists with the innovational projects and answered to their questions.  

By the Decree of Federal Agency of forestry, the Certificates of appreciation were given to: A. Sh. Gazizov, the engineer of forest utilization in Sabinskii forestry, N. F. Ibragimova, the engineer of forest utilization in Bugulminskii forestry, Y. M. Malkin, forest guard in Tetushskii forestry, L. S. Mannapova, chief accountant in Prigorodnii forestry, G. G. Mingalieva, HR specialist in Kamskii forestry.

All these awards were presented by Deputy Director of Federal Agency of forestry Mr. Nikolay Krotov on the Final meeting of the Collegium of Ministry of Forestry RT.

By the Decree of the President of Republic of Tatarstan were awarded medals “For Valorous Labour” the Head-forester of Buinskii forestry- Nikolay Petrovoch Belov and the Head-forester of Sabinskii forestry- Vasil Nurullinovich Gizzatullin.

Honorary degree “Deserved Forester of Republic of Tatarstan” was given to Rinat Gabdelfartovich Kashapov. He is the main forester in Sabinski forestry.

With the gratitude of the President RT were encouraged Almas Yusupovich Akhmetov, the Head of forest nursery in Prigorodnii forestry and Marina Vechaslavovna Zaiceva, legislative chief in Ministry of Forestry RT.

All these awards were presented by the Prime Minister RT I. Sh. Khalikov on the Final meeting of the Collegium of Ministry of Forestry RT.

In the enlarged meeting of the Collegium of Ministry of Forestry RT took part Prime Minister RT Mr. Ildar Khalikov and Deputy Director of federal agency of forestry Mr. Nikolay Krotov. Minister of Forestry Mr. Nail. Magdeev made a report “The Progress of the work of Ministry of Forestry RT in 2012 and tasks for 2013”. He made an evaluation of work in principal directions of forestry development: forest restoration and protection, forest regeneration and cultivation, conservation of biodiversity in Tatarstan, personnel policy. According to actions taken, consolidation of material and technical resources, fleet vehicles of subordinate authorities in 2012, and in 2011 there was not even one fire in forestry fund of Republic. In selected-seed center which started its work in January 2011 were grown 12 thousand of elite ball-rooted planting stock. 70 millions of planting stock and seedlings were grown in 55 forest tree nursery “Forest”

The Minister of Forestry RT Mr. Nail Magdeev and Chief Executive of forestry department and forest protection at Technical University of Dresden, professor, Sven Wagner discussed the problems of oak forests which are rehabilitating in Tatarstan and signed an Agreement that forestry-scientists of Germany will take part in a complex solvation of forestry questions and scientific support in construction of scientific and production center in Kaibizki forestry which is called “Oak-Wood of Russia”

The Minister Mr. N. Mgdeev noticed that today there was a big start of great and interesting partnership. Professor Wagner told that he was anxious for working with Russian specialists. He is very interested in oak-wood of Tatarstan because in Kaibizi there is boundary dispersal of oak trees in Europe and they are growing in very extreme conditions in comparison with West Europe, in conditions of dry Summer and cold Winter.

In 19 of January, Dr. Wagner will become one of the participants of the Collegium of Ministry of Forestry RT and give a report: “Condition of oak wood in Europe, Russian Federation and Republic of Tatarstan: experience, problems and their solvation.”

In September, 19 there will be enlarged meeting of the Collegium of Ministry in EC “Korston” which is called “The Progress of the work of Ministry of Forestry RT in 2012 and tasks for 2013”. The President of Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov will take part in this meeting.

There will be different events in Republic referred to decrease negative pressure on environment and ecological public education. Besides that by the Ministry of Forestry RT will be organized special environmental actions such as “Day of tree planting”, “Clean forests of Tatarstan”.

Food and Agricultural organization of the United Nations (FAO) supported the idea of carrying International Day of Forest. It was a cause of  sharing information with society about the importance of forest maintenance. It was decided to celebrate this Day every year on 21st of March- in the day of autumnal equinox in southern hemisphere and the vernal equinox in northern hemisphere.

The main idea of International Day of Forest is to raise the familiarity of citizens of the world about the importance of forest’s ecosystems, their real condition, main ways of protection, rehabilitation and recovery. Biologists noticed that reduction in area of forestry leads to negative process which has the global meanings: soil erosion, reducing variety of plants and animals, degradation of water reservoirs, increasing of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, reducing of quantity of industrial and low-grade wood, and finally reduction of human life and action.
